Wrexham One Win Away As Some Big Statements Are Made

Wrexham require just one more win to secure their EFL return but Yeovil Town are going in the other direction and need to start planning for the National League South.

The Dragons will be crowned champions if they match or better Notts County’s result this weekend.

They now have 107 points on the board - a new National League record.

The leaders defeated the now-relegated Glovers 3-0 after turning on the second-half style - Anthony Forde and James Jones got them going before Paul Mullin got his obligatory goal to edge his team closer to glory.

One win against either Boreham Wood on Saturday, live on BT Sport, or at Torquay on the final day will see them return to the Football League for the first time in 15 years.

Chesterfield fans will feel they’re edging closer to securing third spot - and Torquay will fear they’ve got it all to do.

Andrew Dallas scored a deadly hat-trick in their 5-1 thumping to blow the Gulls’ five-game winning run to pieces. Ollie Banks and Liam Mandeville got the other goals.

Gary Johnson's side will almost certainly go down if they lose one of their last two games.

Aldershot won 1-0 at Wealdstone to take a giant stride towards safety, Tahvon Campbell grabbed the crucial goal.

Gateshead and Dorking Wanderers are safe, they played out a 0-0 draw.

Barnet secure their play-off place, Harry Smith’s goal on the half hour was enough to defeat Solihull Moors and Bromley will be happy with their 1-1 draw at FC Halifax after Michael Cheek grabbed what could be a precious point.

Alex Reid got another goal for Oldham against Southend United, whose play-off hopes are dwindling. Altrincham came from behind but couldn’t beat Dagenham as it ended 2-2.

It was an eventful National League North night.

Glen Taylor grabbed his 8th goal in the past five games as Spennymoor eased to three points against Southport, Paul Blackett got two for the Moors.

Jordan Hickey’s double grabbed a massive win for Blyth Spartans against their relegation rivals Farsley Celtic, who looked doomed a few months ago.

Will Hayhurst also scored twice as Curzon Ashton did some damage to Darlington’s promotion hopes as Jordan Thewlis boosted Alfreton’s - he claimed a point at Banbury in a thrilling finish.

In the National League South, Hungerford Town live to fight another day after a thumping 3-0 win at Taunton Town.

So do Concord Rangers after Lewis Manor scored in the 1-0 win over Dover Athletic.

Cheshunt need a miracle now after 2-1 home defeat to Chelmsford, veteran Dave Winfield hit the winner.

Worthing surely have their hands on a play-off place after Ollie Pearce’s winner against Farnborough.
