Unibet's Vanarama National League Matchday 9 Preview

By Sam Elliott

Just two points separates the top four teams in the Vanarama National League - so who will be sitting at the summit on Saturday night?

Dagenham & Redbridge continue to lead the way but with Chesterfield, Grimsby Town and Boreham Wood all within striking distance you can’t take your eyes off the action.

There’s ten games to come on Saturday before a full programme on Tuesday night - it’s going to be quite a few days!

Every week, new betting partner Unibet will run the rule over the main matches in the two divisions.

All your odds across the Vanarama National League are available at Unibet.

Aldershot Town v Wrexham

When you have lost all of your home matches, the last thing you need is a visit from one of the title favourites.

New manager Mark Molesley saw for himself the level of the task facing him and Terry Brown when the Shots went down to FC Halifax Town last week.

In north Wales, Wrexham were nudged out of the promotion places without playing in midweek - they have won only one of their five away games so far.

Losing their last two of their travels, the Dragons already know they can’t let a gap appear as Phil Parkinson gets his feet under the table at the Racecourse.

Unibet enhanced odds: Full time Wrexham - goals under 4.5
One to watch: Paddy Madden (Wrexham)

Barnet v FC Halifax Town

It’s amazing what a win can do and Barnet spirits have been suitably lifted after getting that first victory last weekend.

It hauled the Bees up a few places but with another home fixture arriving, the club’s fans want them to build on that.

Dean Brennan will do his chances of landing the managers’ job full-time no harm at all if they can get past FC Halifax Town - only problem is, they’re taking on one of the division’s form sides.

Pete Wild’s Shaymen have won five of their last seven National League matches - including a roasting of one of the title favourites, Stockport County.

They have already scored 15 goals and only two sides have conceded less, too.

Unibet enhanced odds: Both teams to score - goals over 2.5
One to watch: Billy Waters (FC Halifax Town)

Dagenham & Redbridge v Altrincham

The resting Daggers couldn’t quite believe their luck on Tuesday night.

As they put their feet up, the two sides who could have taken their top spot - Grimsby Town and Chesterfield - both blew half-time leads.

The Daggers know the challengers will keep coming at them, and must get the better of a side in solid form themselves.

Altrincham have won three of their last four and have already won at Promotion Finalists Torquay United this season. No side have conceded less than they have, either.

But at home, league leaders Dagenham are simply sensational.

Daryl McMahon’s men have scored 15 goals in four games in front of their fans, with striker Paul McCallum already blazing an early trail with six.

It’s going to be another big weekend of National League action!

Unibet enhanced odds: Total goals over 3.5
One to watch: Ryan Colclough (Altrincham)
