Returning Molesley Keen To Make Up For Lost Time At Terras

Mark Molesley is determined to roll back the years after returning “home” to Weymouth.

After guiding the Terras to back-to-back promotions in 2019 and 2020, the former Aldershot Town boss left to take over at Southend United.

Now the 43-year-old has returned after he recently stepped down from his role at Southern Premier League South Hayes & Yeading and says he is keen to make up for lost time.

Molesley replaced the outgoing Bobby Wilkinson at the Bob Lucas Stadium - and fancies some more success after being paraded before Bank Holiday Monday’s match with Yeovil Town.

With the club safe from the drop, he will use the final few weeks to get a head start on next season. Brad Asagba has been named as assistant manager with Jamie Wells confirmed as first-team coach. Josh McQuoid, interim assistant boss before the appointment, will stay on.

He said: “I’m really excited to be back home, so to speak. There are some really exciting times hopefully on the horizon.

“We want to try and emulate all the great moments of history at this club. The new players, if there is, and players that stay, are rightly standing on the shoulders of giants.

“The friendly faces and all the good feeling I’ve felt from the people is great but that’s going to fuel my fire even more to make sure we make this club and community proud of us and the team.

“I drove down the seafront on my way in just to take it all in, then you get in to the ground and there are so many familiar friendly faces and fantastic support out there. The lads must’ve loved playing in front of that.

“It’s our aim to have more days like this. A packed-out Bob Lucas is a sight to behold.”
