Boreham Wood vs Notts County

There aren’t too many teams better than Boreham Wood at home right now.

Six wins from six and no goals conceded in front of their own fans since September. No wonder Luke Garrard feels proud of his players with only free-scoring Chesterfield keeping them off top spot.

Notts’ defeat at Eastleigh threw a spanner in the works of their recent recovery. Having won four from five before the weekend, it was an opportunity missed.

Both these teams now expect to be around the top few places and promotion is certainly not out of the question.

Solihull Moors vs Grimsby Town

While it wasn’t the full-throttle display their start hinted at, Grimsby got themselves back on track on Friday night.

Ending a recent worrying run against Southend United, they got the three points they badly needed and moved level on points with the leaders. Well, for a day at least.

Solihull just hope that their plans haven’t been hit by a difficult seven days.

Defeats to Notts County, Wigan and Chesterfield gave Neal Ardley food for thought.

His team’s challenging run of fixtures continues but the Mariners have lost their last three on the road and this one could go either way.

FC Halifax Town vs Wrexham

We said fewer teams around possess a better recent home record than Boreham Wood.

Well, here’s one that does - FC Halifax and their fans have made life hellish for visitors for quite some time. They’re not doing badly on their travels lately, either.

They have won their last six National League matches at the Shay, make that eight overall including FA Cup games.

In fact, they have won every one at home since the opening day defeat to Maidenhead United.

What Wrexham would give for their consistency.

Although impressive with seven points from nine, it was a familiar ‘what if’ feeling in a blunt home draw to part-time Wealdstone at the weekend.

The Dragons can call on the third best away record in the division, but will need to be at their very best on Tuesday.

It’s the toughest place to go anywhere right now.

It's going to be another big night of football around the country!
