Beech Will Be Back As Coasters Decide To Stick With Chris

Chris Beech will continue to take charge of AFC Fylde next season - and fans are wondering if he can power them towards the right end of the table this time.

Beech took over in December and transformed the Coasters’ season after being given the remit of keeping the team in the National League.

They stayed up with plenty to spare, eventually finishing 18th and that was enough for owner David Haythornthwaite to give him another year.

After taking 36 points from their remaining 21 games, there was only man for the job.

He doesn’t want a struggle this time around and with a big summer ahead, Beech hopes to really stamp his mark on the team.

The chairman said: “I’m delighted to give Chris this extended opportunity. We’re going to work closely together to ensure we begin to kick off up the league table when the season begins.”

The club’s director of football stepped into the breach following Adam Murray’s departure with 15 games of the season gone.

Beech said: “I am delighted the deal is done and I can’t wait to dig in and get the season started.”
