Super Sammy Saves The Day For Inman And Maidenhead

Dean Inman hailed a second half tactical switch by Alan Devonshire which secured Maidenhead United's first ever Vanarama National League point.

The Magpies opened up the season at Maidstone and came away with a 1-1 draw after a good second half performance.

They equalised in the 88th minute when sub Sam Barratt thundered in a header.

Devonshire believed his team were worthy of what they got and so did his centre-half.

Defender Inman said: "We'll take that, especially after being a goal down.

"Sammy coming off the bench swung things into our favour and we really looked a threat after that change. He was great.

"They had a couple chances in the first half and hit the bar in the second half so both teams will maybe feel they could of left with all three points.

"But after we got the equaliser we looked really good.

"We were actually unlucky not to go on and win the game - it was a really good performance in the second half.

"Now we move on to Tuesday against Wrexham which is a massive game everyone at Maidenhead for obvious reasons.

"They are a big club and it's our first match at home this season we want to show the supporters who were so great last season what we can do."
