What Happened On Tuesday Night In The National League?

By Oliver Osborn

The National League title race was blown wide open on what could be a critical night come the end of May.

Torquay United stunned Sutton United to clinch a sixth win in seven.

Asa Hall snatched the all-important winner as the U’s failed to regain top spot - and they have now won only once in seven.

Just a single point separates the top three teams and it’s a title race you are simply not going to be able to take your eyes off.

Wrexham grabbed a win just when they needed it the most.

After three straight defeats they have slipped out of the top seven but they returned to form in style.

They pulled apart FC Halifax Town, 4-0 it ended at the Shay as Jordan Davies bagged a stunning hat-trick. Dior Angus got the other to the delight of Dean Keates.

Paddy Madden’s brace gunned down King’s Lynn Town as Stockport County put them away in clinical fashion.

They won 4-0 with Alex Reid and midfielder John Rooney also on target.

Solihull Moors stunned Notts County with a classic comeback.

Jimmy Knowles got Notts up and running but Moors are a different side under Mark Yates - they won it with goals from Jimmy Ball and Kyle Hudlin.

Boreham Wood are back to drawing again - but their point at Chesterfield will certainly please their fans, 0-0 it ended.

Don’t discount Danny Searle’s Aldershot Town just yet.

They won 3-0 at Weymouth thanks to Josh Rees‘s double and a Harry Panayiotou effort.

Bromley left it late to stun Woking in a classic at Kingfield.

Andy Woodman’s side left with all three points and a 4-3 victory with a late own goal the difference.

National League Player of the Month Angelo Balanta scored again as Dagenham saw off Eastleigh 2-0.
