What Happened On Tuesday Across The National League

By Sam Elliott

It was another very successful night for Stockport County as the leaders stretched their legs as their nearest rivals both lost.

County won for a 15th time in 16 National League games as they eased to a 3-0 win at King’s Lynn.

Goals from Paddy Madden, Liam Hogan and a first for the club for Elliot Newby earned a straight forward three points. Relentless County now have a ten point advantage and the countdown is about to begin.

That’s because the news was good elsewhere, too.

Second place Chesterfield went down to Altrincham - a bizarre Matty Kosylo goal bagging a fourth home win in a row for the Robins, pictured.

FC Halifax hold on to third place but they went down 3-1 at an impressive Wrexham in the live BT Sport game.

Solihull Moors keep the goals flowing and this week we’re talking about Kyle Hudlin.

He scored twice - including a late winner - as they came from behind to win at Grimsby Town.

Matthew Palmer’s early goal was enough for Notts County at home to out-of-form Boreham Wood.

Bromley have also come unstuck at the worst time and they lost 2-1 to a Tom Knowles inspired Yeovil Town.

Ryan Upward’s winner for Maidenhead United defeated Southend as Woking came away victorious against Weymouth.

Paul McCallum came back to haunt Eastleigh as the Spitfires went down 1-0 to Dagenham.

Torquay United were really on it as the Gulls picked apart Aldershot Town, 4-0 it finished.

The top two again won in the National League North.

Cedwyn Scott is simply sensation this season and his hat-trick helped Gateshead to an easy 4-0 victory over Curzon Ashton.

Brackley Town won’t let them scamper off into the distance - a 1-0 win over Alfreton keeps the heat on. Lee Ndlovu again the match winner.

A debut goal from new AFC Fylde signing Will Hatfield won it at Spennymoor.

Daniel Elliott’s goal ended York City’s undefeated run as Boston United left with a 1-0 win.

Matt McClure’s late, late leveller lifted Gloucester City, they drew 3-3 with Chester.

Elsewhere there were big victories for Bradford PA, Darlington and Farsley Celtic.

In the night’s only National League South game, Nana Kyei’s goal for Concord Rangers ten minutes from time earned a 2-1 win over St Albans City.
