What Happened On Tuesday Across The National League?

By Sam Elliott

There were plenty of important games in all divisions last night at both ends of the tables.

Barrow‘s lead at the top is down to four points at Harrogate Town kept up the pressure.

They were conclusive 3-0 winners against title rivals Yeovil Town on a great night for Simon Weaver’s team.

George Thomson’s deadly double added to a goal from Jack Diamond to keep the Yorkshire club in the hunt.

At the other end, AFC Fylde let a chance pass them by.

After going 2-0 up at Eastleigh, the strugglers has to settle for a point. James Alabi’s penalty put the Spirfires on terms after free-scoring midfielder Danny Hollands gave them hope.

Barnet’s unbeaten run is over - but Solihull Moors’ winless one is too.

Terry Hawkridge’s 19th minute penalty proved to be the difference as the managerless Midlanders got back on track.

In the National League South Hampton & RB couldn’t give the top seven something to really think about.

They missed the chance to go within a point of the play-off places as Anthony Cook’s penalty earned Welling United a 1-1 draw at the Beveree.

There was a big National League North play-off battle as Spennymoor overcame Altrincham 3-2 in another thriller.

The game ended 4-4 last season but this time the Moors edged it, Nathan Buddle got what turned out to be the winning goal in the snow.

Kidderminster won 1-0 at Farsley Celtic hours after Russ Penn was confirmed as the club’s new manager until the end of the season.
