What Happened On Saturday In The National League?

By Sam Elliott

There was another day of promotion twists and turns on a typically intense National League afternoon.

It wasn’t a day to remember for Sutton United, they went down to Adam Marriott’s winner at Eastleigh and missed the chance to go top.

Torquay United fans are wondering how crucial their late, late leveller against Notts County could turn out to be.

Ben Wynter’s equaliser, pictured, in the eighth minute of time added on snatched a 2-2 draw as the Gulls came from two down at snatch a dramatic point.

Stockport County are certainly mathematically still in the equation.

They impressed at hard-to-beat Boreham Wood - 3-0 winners with goals from Ash Palmer, John Rooney and Alex Reid.

Wrexham and Chesterfield drew 0-0 as both sides fired blanks in the race for the top seven.

Bromley look the real deal under Andy Woodman already.

Their fourth win in a row came at FC Halifax Town, James Alabi with a winner late on after Michael Cheek had typically found the net.

Solihull Moors fired a five-goal salvo - Justin Donawa helped himself to a hat-trick in an easy triumph over Yeovil Town.

Barnet came back from the deal to defeat Altrincham 3-2.

Simon Bassey’s side looked beaten in Manchester but a sensational winner from Tomi Adeloyi turned the match on its head.

Dan Orsi-Dadomo’s sensational season continues - he scored twice as Maidenhead United saw off Woking 2-1.

Aldershot were too strong from Wealdstone, while Dagenham wish the season started a few months ago.

Daryl McMahon’s team won 3-0 at King’s Lynn as their great form continues.

Paul McCallum, Angelo Balanta and Matt Robinson secured a straight-forward three points for the Londoners.
