What Happened On Monday Across The National League?

The final games of 2020 were filled with goals and drama a plenty as we all look forward to a better year ahead.

The last matches before New Year didn’t disappoint - and it was eventually another good day for the National League leaders.

Torquay United remain very much in charge at the top of the table, a thrilled in Weymouth saw them win 4-3 late on.

Having been pegged back by the valiant Terras, the pace-setters' quality shone through and Conor Lemonheigh-Evans great form continued - his late winner means the Gulls are eleven points clear.

Hartlepool United have real hope again and they are back in the promotion mix in a big way.

Luke Armstrong’s 19th minute winner at Notts County took Dave Challinor’s men into second place.

Stockport County climb to fourth - they did a job on Wrexham inside 15 minutes.

Richie Bennett put them in front before a Jordan Keane goal on the quarter hour meant there was no way back.

Yeovil are out of the bottom three as they put their Boxing Day disaster at Torquay to one side.

The Glovers got a much-needed win, 3-0 at home to Aldershot Town with striker Courtney Duffus at the double.

Chester missed the chance to close the gap - in-form Chorley won 2-1 with Connor Hall’s penalty the decisive moment.

York knew they had to beat Guiseley and they did that with Josh King the match winner.

Rob Ramshaw, pictured, turned on the style for Spennymoor as his double got one over Gateshead as they left the International Stadium with a 3-1 win and three points.

Boston United are getting better each week - Joe Leesley is showing his class and his brace inspired a 4-0 win at Farsley Celtic.

Darlington destroyed Blyth Spartans, it ended 6-0 to take the Quakers out of the bottom two.

Curzon Ashton eased past Bradford PA while it was a 3-3 thriller between Alfreton and Kettering Town.


Just three matches went ahead in the National League South.

Hampton wish they could play away every week - the Beavers fell short at home again after six victories on the road in a row.

Dulwich Hamlet left south west London and headed back east with three points as Danny Mills inspired the 2-1 victory against the ten man Beavers.

Hungerford Town are up to third as they won 2-0 at Bath City.

The Crusaders sealed the win thanks to first half goals from Ryan Seager and Craig Fasanmade.

Billericay’s first game for more than a month was worth the wait.

The Blues’ 3-1 win over Essex rivals Braintree was secured by deadly Jake Robinson, who scored a goal in each half to move his team up to 15th.
