Unibet's Vanarama National League Matchday 42 Preview

By Sam Elliott

We’re heading into the home straight - so could there be more promotion twists and turns ahead, or will the road to the EFL open up in the next few weeks?

After the busy Bank Holiday weekend comes a sensational Saturday offering and as May appears on the horizon there’s little room for error.

But there’s still time for a spanner or two to be thrown into the works and for teams to put their hand up and join the promotion party. Here’s the pick of the action.

Woking vs Wrexham

It’s next stop Woking on the BT Sport roadshow - and there could be goals in this one.

Woking have improved in the past few months since making the difficult decision to dispense with the services of Alan Dowson.

Wrexham just want to keep the title race going for as long as possible and after both teams scored four times on Easter Monday a lot is expected.

Phil Parkinson’s team have six to play and know they need to collect six points for this one and Tuesday’s trip to Weymouth to keep breathing down Stockport’s necks.

One to watch: Ollie Palmer (Wrexham)
Unibet Enhanced Odds: Over 3.5 goals

Notts County vs Weymouth

The Terras could be relegated on Saturday - but Notts County can’t afford to be sympathetic.

If Weymouth lose and Aldershot Town win at Solihull Moors, it is done and dusted.

Notts’ play-off place isn’t yet secured, with Dagenham & Redbridge just two points behind them and scoring a lot of goals.

They have a decent looking run-in, with Dover Athletic to come twice after this game, and trips to strugglers Maidenhead United and Aldershot.

Weymouth secured a positive draw against Yeovil Town on Monday but they have scored in only one of their last nine games.

One to watch: Ruben Rodriques (Notts County)
Unibet Enhanced Odds: Notts County to win - over 4.5 goals

Yeovil Town vs Stockport County

It’s understandable why some County fans called Monday’s narrow win over Solihull their most important one yet.

After losing their incredible unbeaten run at Grimsby on a far from Good Friday, the Vanarama National League world was watching.

How they reacted. The three points kept the others at arm’s length, and there’s an outside chance the leaders could actually win it next Saturday - even if it is against the odds.

Around 1,000 of their fans will travel to Somerset in the hope of seeing their team take another giant step towards the EFL.

Yeovil Town have lost just one in seven under caretaker Charlie Lee and intend to play their part and disrupt the rhythm of the table toppers.

The Glovers have history against Stockport, of course.

They won the reverse fixture 3-0 back in early September, but since then the leaders have dropped just seven points at home.

It’s sure to be another action packed weekend full of talking points!

One to watch: Ryan Croasdale (Stockport County)
Unibet Enhanced Odds: Full-time Stockport - under 4.5 goals
