Scunthorpe United vs Maidstone United

Just two points separate the basement boys Gateshead and Yeovil Town, the side sitting about the bottom four.

So when two of the teams crouched just under that dreaded dotted line meet, you know the stakes are really high.

Scunthorpe’s little recovery has stalled with two defeats in a row, but they have already won three times at home. They fell short against Wrexham, but have good volume when it comes to home support.

Maidstone United just need to stay in touch, head coach Hakan Hayretten says. But it’s no wins in 12 now, and they’ve lost seven in a row away from the Gallagher Stadium.

One to watch: Joe Nuttall (Scunthorpe United)

Eastleigh vs Notts County

Home is where the heart is for both these clubs, so is it advantage Eastleigh on Saturday?

It’s five from five at the Silverlake for the Spitfires, unbeaten in front of their own fans and coming off the back of a five-star victory against Maidstone United you won’t find the visitors underestimating the task in front of them.

Lee Bradbury’s side have yet to taste defeat in Hampshire, even taking a point back home from Aldershot!

Notts lost top spot in midweek, their draw at in-form Southend United not to be sniffed but Wrexham were just too sharp 24 hours later.

Macaulay Langstaff scored again at Roots Hall and he has 18 National League goals already.

One to watch: Daniel Whitehall (Eastleigh)

Torquay United vs Chesterfield

Say what you want about Torquay United this season, but they’re never a dull watch.

Season tickets should have probably come complete with a health warning when they went on sale during the summer.

The last six matches at Plainmoor have been absolutely frantic to say the least.

In 540 minutes of football, fans have seen 34 goals - that’s an average of more than five-and-a-half a game!

Chesterfield probably won’t know what to expect when Paul Cook takes his team to Devon on Saturday, the Gulls have scored six in one game this term and have also let in six in another.

But the Spireites have turned the screw since it appeared things were starting to unravel last month.

Ten points from a possible 12 and with FA Cup progression, they’re keen for the championship conversation to shift from Notts County and Wrexham again.

Too many draws on the road have held them back a little, and a fruitful long journey this weekend will put them back in the thick of it.

It’s going to be another intriguing afternoon!
