Unibet's National League North And South Preview

By Sam Elliott

The thaw is hopefully underway but whose title charge is only just heating up?

There was weather frustration for many on Tuesday night, but not for Ebbsfleet United who returned to the top of the National League South again, or for on-the-charge AFC Fylde.

We’ve got another big weekend ahead and here’s what betting partner Unibet makes of it all.

Dover Athletic vs Havant & Waterlooville - National League South

Mitch Brundle has become the youngster manager in the division by some distance aged 28.

But the new Dover Athletic boss will need to learn fast with his first official assignment title chasing Havant & Waterlooville.

The Whites will take heart after pushing Ebbsfleet close last time out but it’s one win in seven and they face a Hawks side who now appear over their recent blip.

Havant are the only side in the division yet to lose away from home, winning eight of their 11 games outside Hampshire but Paul Doswell knows the pressure’s on to keep winning if they’re going to claw their way to the top.

One to watch: Muhammadu Faal (Havant & Waterlooville)

Scarborough Athletic vs AFC Fylde - National League North

Well, we can’t say we haven’t been warned.

It seems AFC Fylde’s slow start to the new season was a bit of a red herring after all.

After spending the first four or five months in and out of the top seven, they’ve now got their eyes on making it over another dotted line.

Nine National League North wins from ten means the Coasters are only not top of the lot purely because of goal difference.

They’re on the crest of a wave as Adam Murray’s appointment looks to be inspired though they face a Scarborough side who rarely lose at home.

But while the Seadogs may have been defeated just twice in front of their home fans since 2021, two of those loses have come in their last four outings.

Fylde haven’t lost on their travels since October and there’s no team in better form anywhere right now.

Murray says it’s one game at a time but he knows they could soon be the ones to be shot at.

It’s going to be another eye-catching weekend!
