Two Loan Lambs For Festive Period

Tamworth have strengthened their squad for the busy festive period by bringing two players on loan.

Centre-back Joel Kettle joins on a month`s loan from National League neighbours Solihull Moors.

The 25-year-old arrived at the Automated Technology Group Stadium from Evo-Stik League Premier side Rushall Olympic, having made twenty-two appearances for them and captaining the side.

Kettle (pictured) is a tough, no-nonsense style of defender who has raised his game since joining Solihull.

A highly-rated central defender who transferred to Dales Lane during summer 2016 after ending the previous campaign with Sutton Coldfield Town, he first came to prominence with Tividale during 2009/10 and two spells with Sutton transferring to Stourbridge in March 2014.

The summer of 2014 saw him move on to neighbours Halesowen Town but ultimately returned to Sutton for a third spell in February 2015.

Midfielder Theo Wharton moves to the Lamb for a month from league rivals York City.

Wharton signed for the Minstermen in June 2017 on a one-year deal.

The 22-year-old former Cardiff City and Wales under-21 international also has experience of sixth tier football with a short spell at Weston-super-Mare in the National League South last season.

The box-to-box midfielder has also been capped at international level by St Kitts & Nevis, making three appearances so far.

Wharton was born in Cwmbran and is the son of former footballer Sean Wharton and godson of former Welsh international striker Nathan Blake.
