Torquay Take Cardiff City Striker On Loan For Remainder Of The Season

Rhys Healey has joined Torquay United on loan from SkyBet Championship high-flyers Cardiff City, subject to international clearance.

The 23-year-old forward has signed with the Gulls for the remainder of the 2017/18 campaign.

Manchester-born Healey joined Cardiff from Connah’s Quay in January 2013, after impressing club scouts with his Welsh Premier displays.

The striker has consistently performed for Cardiff`s under-23 and development sides, whilst earning experience with loan spells at Colchester United, Dundee and Newport County.

On Saturday 21st, January 2017, Healey scored a dramatic, late winner against Burton Albion in just his second league match for Cardiff.

He went on to make his full debut against Reading a week later, although a cruel knee ligament injury brought a premature end to his season.

He has totalled eleven senior games for Neil Warnock`s side to date.
