The Draw For The FA Cup Third Round Has Been Made

By Sam Elliott

The draw for the FA Cup third round has been made as our remaining National League heroes discover who they will face in the New Year.

AFC Fylde, the only one of our sides guaranteed to be involved in the next round, will take on Premier League Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

It’s the club’s first ever appearance at this stage as Jim Bentley makes his mark.

Boston United, who have taken League One Rochdale to a reply, have a great tie if they can do the business - a home game with Newcastle United

Hartlepool
didn’t accept defeat at Exeter City and they will take on Oxford United if they go through.

Eastleigh are also in the hat but must win at Crewe next week - if they do that, they will host Championship basement boys Barnsley.

The prize money for winning sides is £135,000.

The FA Cup third round draw:
Rochdale or Boston United v Newcastle United
Oxford United v Hartlepool United or Exeter City
Sheffield United v AFC Fylde
Eastleigh or Crewe v Barnsley
