Quinton: Braintree Got Game Plan Right

Braintree made it three games unbeaten after defeating St Albans City 1-0 at Cressing Road.

The Iron inflicted the first defeat on City on Bank Holiday Monday thanks to captain Marc Okoye's goal, writes Tom Feaheny.

Speaking to the club's website manager Brad Quinton praised his side and the changes they had made after a draw on Saturday.

"We changed our formation with three players coming and the opposition, who are clearly a good side, couldn't cope with us. All the players worked hard and put a shift in and I am proud of them all because we had all the energy and stuck to our game management plan.

He added: "We obviously tried to frustrate them from the start but I'm also pleased we never stop chasing them down and then we kept counter-attacking."

Town from their opening seven games have tasted defeat just once, with two draws and four wins from those matches so far.

They next face Oxford City away from home on Saturday with a 3pm kick-off as they look to make it four games without defeat and they currently lie just four points off the top of the table.
