Enterprise National League South: The weekend preview

The Enterprise National League South is back to full strength this weekend and there’s a dozen fixtures with plenty riding on them.

Ebbsfleet United are in action for the first time this season, but incredibly two teams sit below them in the table.

The Kent club have been given the go ahead to start their season and they begin the campaign at Walton & Hersham, one of the clubs with no points yet on the board. The Swans confirmed they parted ways with Kevin James following a sixth defeat from six, a 5-1 thrashing at Tonbridge Angels on Monday. Wayne Andrews and Ruben Gaspar are stepping in.

The other team without a point on the board is Slough Town, but they have a chance to get off the mark when Braintree Town visit. Steve Pitt’s Iron are just one spot above the early drop-zone.

Hampton & RB are the remaining side inside the bottom four but a win at AFC Totton is likely to haul them out.

Craig Fagan's Maidstone United are a team in form, as the Beavers discovered on Monday. The game of the weekend sees Weston-super-Mare visit and the second vs fourth match looks sure to produce goals.

The last thing Torquay United manager Jimmy Balls needs is a fixture with a high-flying team full of confidence.

Folkestone Invicta are now sitting in third after their dream start - and with one win from six, the Gulls’ early-season nightmare needs to come to an end at Plainmoor.

Leaders Dagenham & Redbridge’s 15-point start is pleasing for Lee Allinson, but he thinks the table toppers are yet to hit the heights. Any kind of a win at Horsham would really strengthen their position.

Truro City fans won’t be unhappy with their start, the welcome Chesham United, while Maidenhead United’s quest for a second win takes them to Dover Athletic.

Elsewhere, Chelmsford City host Salisbury, Hemel Hempstead Town welcome a Farnham Town side fresh from the club’s greatest ever win against Torquay United with strong starters Farnborough and Tonbridge Angels play in Hampshire.
