New Silkmen Deal for Whitaker

By Steve Whitney

Macclesfield Town have announced that Danny Whitaker has agreed a new contract with the Vanarama National League club.

The 35-year-old, who is now well in to his second spell for the Silkmen, had another impressive year for John Askey's side last term, making forty-five appearances and netting 7 goals from midfield.

He also celebrated two personal landmarks as he reached his 300th Macclesfield game in an FA Cup win over Alfreton Town before netting his 50th Macclesfield goal in a 3-1 victory over Braintree Town at the Moss Rose in April.

In total, Whitaker has made 329 appearances for Macclesfield over his two spells and he will now look to continue his form in to his ninth season in a Macclesfield shirt.
