More Issues For The Teams At The Top On Tuesday Night!

By Sam Elliott

There were more problems for teams at the top of the National League tonight - but not leaders Chesterfield.

Paul Cook's pace-setters bounced back from weekend defeat to rack up their 50th point of the season after leaving Woking 2-0 winners. Armando Dobra made it safe after Joe Quigley’s first half opener.

Third place Bromley’s incredible eight-match winning run at Hayes Lane is over in sensational style after Aldershot’s incredible fightback.

Second-half goals from Jack Barham, Lorent Tolaj and Coby Rowe in the 103st minute stunned the hosts, who went 2-0 up early on.

Prolific Paul McCallum, pictured, scored his 14th and 15th goals of the National League season as Eastleigh saw off Boreham Wood, whose struggles continue.

Will Davies got his York City career up and running early on - he added to a Tyler Cordner goal as they defeated Oxford City. Ryan East’s double enhanced Rochdale’s play-off bid at the expense of fellow contenders Altrincham.

Stephen Wearne scored again as Gateshead won 2-0 at Solihull Moors, Greg Olley got the other. Reece Smith scored again for improving Maidenhead United as they left Ebbsfleet United with a 1-1 draw.

FC Halifax Town thought they won at home once again - Jack Hunter and Rob Harker turned things around against ten man AFC Fylde. But the troubled Coasters showed the spirit to get out of trouble, Taelor O’Kane's second of the game five minutes into time added on sparked wild celebrations.

Amari Morgan-Smith earned Kidderminster Harriers a point at home to Hartlepool United.

A late Liam Dolman goal kept Tamworth top of the National League North.

That was bad news for Scunthorpe United who thought they were about to overtake them after their 1-0 victory vs Southport, Max Kouogun with the winner.

South Shields and Spennymoor Town both couldn’t find a breakthrough in their matches.

Declan Weeks’ early effort couldn’t win it for Chester at Alfreton. It ended 1-1 as Rushall Olympic left Boston United 1-0 winners - Lewis Hudson with the big moment.

Finlay Barnes made the points safe for Scarborough at home to King’s Lynn with Jake Hull getting the Buxton winner at home to Hereford. Nicky Deverdics grabbed a point to Blyth Spartans

In the National League South, Yeovil Town’s incredible 14-game winning run is over.

A late own goal handed Chippenham a point after Jake Hyde put the Glovers of course for another win.

There were no goals as Bath City fired blanks at Hemel Hempstead but Aaron Blair knows where the net is - he scored both as Braintree Town won 2-0 at Dartford.

Worthing were wonderful at Farnborough, Joan Luque, Ollie Pearce and Ricky Aguiar with the goals. James Morton’s late winner made Weston-super-Mare’s trip to St Albans City worth it.

Havant’s hell continued at Slough as Tonbridge pegged back title chasing Aveley. Calvin Brooks sealed Weymouth’s win over Truro City.
