More Investment At Moors As Solihull Look Towards EFL

Solihull Moors have announced the arrival of new investors, something they hope can help push the club on into the Football League.

The Damson Park board has been boosted by new directors, the National League club have confirmed.

Solihull have released a statement saying Darryl Eales and Calvin Barnett are now officially involved.

Moors have made an encouraging start to the new season having pulled off a great escape last term.

“We are delighted to announce the arrival of several new investors and directors in Moors, led by Darryl Eales and Calvin Barnett, bringing additional financial management and commercial skills into the club,” said the club.

“The club has rejected other offers of investment whilst it waited for the new team to be in a position to proceed.

“An extended board of directors is now in place with Darryl taking up the position of chairman and Calvin appointed as Chief Executive taking over responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day management of the club and implementation of the club strategy moving forward.

“As part of this re-organisation, Trevor Stevens will step down from the board and take on the role as lifetime President in recognition of the huge contribution he has made and will continue to make.

“We believe strongly that this new board and shareholding structure with new investors will put Moors in a sustainable and stable position for the foreseeable future and will enable the Club to consolidate its recent progress and then move forward towards achieving its ultimate ambition of EFL status, with further development across all aspects of the club.”

New chairman Eales said he is excited about the future.

“It is a club with a wonderful heart and I look forward to working with everyone to build an even stronger base from which we can pursue our aspiration to bring League football to Damson Park.

“I fondly remember watching Moor Green with my Dad when we lived in Robin Hood Lane. I am also delighted my Dad, Mum, my daughters and my brother together with a number of close friends are or will become shareholders.”
