More Big Games At Both Ends Of All The Tables Tonight

By Sam Elliott

The closer we get to the business end of the season, the busier Tuesday nights become - and this midweek is certainly one to keep an eye on.

There’s six big National League games to get things going, and a chance for Chesterfield to go an astonishing 22 points clear.

The runaway leaders are at Dagenham & Redbridge as they look to get things wrapped up within the next few weeks.

There’s a really big game at the other end as the bottom two meet knowing they simply can’t afford to lose it. Woking host Oxford City in a game that could potentially mean so much come April.

Dorking Wanderers could create a gap but they’ve got to go to Altrincham, who are now fourth and looking like real EFL contenders.

There’s a play-off battle as FC Halifax Town and Solihull Moors look to cast aside a tough few results while Wealdstone take on Maidenhead United as the part-timers look to continue their more than respectable seasons.

Eastleigh need to stop shipping goals and the eyes of Gateshead’s strikers will be lightning up after an exposed start to 2024 from the Spitfires. It’s a very long trip for the south coast club tonight.

In the Vanarama National League North, Scunthorpe United play one of their games in hand and look to bring Tamworth closer when they head to Blyth Spartans.

Two sides chasing the top seven clash as Curzon Ashton meet Alfreton while strugglers Southport are at home to Spennymoor as their relegation rivals Gloucester City visit Chorley.

Chester need a win to get their play-off bid rolling but will have their work cut out at Peterborough Sports.

Gary Johnson knows the pressure is mounting at Torquay United - they need to get something from their National League South trip Maidstone United after Saturday’s shocking 4-0 home loss to St Albans City.

The in-form Saints themselves go to Hampton & RB with both teams determined to snatch a top seven spot.

There’s a huge game at the wrong end as the two teams sitting just above the drop zone clash. Taunton Town host Truro City and both sets of fans understand the value of three points in the West Country later on.

The other game comes at Weston-super-Mare with Chippenham Town the visitors. The winner will feel they are edging towards safety.
