Minstermen Take a Look at Polish Keeper

By Steve Whitney

Vanarama National League new boys York City will have a Polish goalkeeper on trial for them during pre-season.

Twenty-one-year-old Ed Wilczynski is being given the chance to impress ahead of the big kick-off having been released by Huddersfield Town.

Wilczynski, 6' 2", already has previous loan stays at Sheffield FC, Bishop Auckland, Hyde United, Trafford FC and FC United of Manchester.

Manager Jackie McNamara is similarly taking a look at Gaelic football goalkeeper Michael Quinn, the son of former Republic of Ireland striker Niall, as the club searches for a second keeper following the departure of the experienced Michael Ingham.
