Mid-Week Preview: Vanarama National League

By David Richardson

Match day 14 has arrived in the Vanarama National League and there's a whole host of exciting action coming up, including a LIVE BT Sport game!

Dover Athletic became the latest team to claim top spot and they travel to the team who they took it from, Sutton United. The U's drew at Wrexham thanks to Ross Lafayette's late goal, the Reds head to tenth-placed FC Halifax Town.

Second-place Dagenham and Redbridge visit the EBB Stadium to take on Aldershot Town, who suffered a disappointing defeat at in-form Macclesfield Town.

The Silkmen are now up to fourth under John Askey and travel to third-from-bottom Guiseley, that were well beaten 3-0 at Maidenhead United. Alan Devonshire's side have won three of their last four while their opponents Torquay United are still yet to win this season and have just four points.

Maidstone United climbed to fifth with a win at Barrow and now host Bromley in a Kent derby. The struggling Bluebirds travel to Hartlepool United, who picked up a valuable point at Woking on Saturday.

The Cards have been in fine form recently but will have to be on their guard at Chester tonight, who have played one, won one under new manager Marcus Bignot. They didn't play on Saturday at Eastleigh due to a waterlogged pitch - the Spitfires visit Boreham Wood.

On Wednesday evening, two of the National League's biggest clubs clash LIVE on BT Sport as Tranmere Rovers host Leyton Orient. Orient were beaten for the fourth time in their last five by AFC Fylde, who head to Gateshead tonight.

Ebbsfleet United made it back-to-back wins on Saturday and they'll hope for another three points at Solihull Moors.

Where next?

Daggers Must Be Sharper As The Head To The Shots Tonight Dagenham & Redbridge will need to perform better today against Aldershot than they did at the weekend in their game with Torquay United.
Magpie's Dev Doesn't Want To Become A Story Tonight Maidenhead United manager Alan Devonshire just wants more of the same tonight - and not to become Torquay United's first success story.
