Frecklington Over The Moon After Gainsborough Cup Win

Gainsborough Trinity boss Dave Frecklington praised character his side showed after beating Harrogate Town to reach the first round of the FA Cup.

Some heroic defending played a big part in Trinity reaching the next round, writes Tom Feaheny.

"We defended so well, there were a few goalmouth scrambles, the character this side have shown, to face Spennymoor, Leamington and Harrogate away and is some going," said Frecklington to the club's website..

"The team spirit is fantastic, in ten away games, we have faced some good sides, we are five unbeaten, the half-time team talk really worked they listened."

"The players wear their heart on their sleeve and we now have to use this run in the league to climb the table."

Frecklington says their fitness is also key.

"We got them super fit in the summer, got them working hard, you could see that during this game, against a full-time team, it's a marvellous result."
