Part One Of Easter Double Bill Is Choc Full Of Big Matches!

By Sam Elliott

Part one of the Easter weekend double bill is hours away - so who will have a very good Friday?

There’s nothing quite like getting it right on the TV, but when TNT Sports pitch up at Solihull Moors for Barnet’s visit, they’ll both possibly be hoping not to give too much away.

Both sides have their eyes firmly fixed on the play-offs, but that’s for late April - finishing off March strongly is the order of the day, even if the two teams may well meet again before the season is out.

As much as it’s about keeping your cards close to your chest, it’s also about form for the sides chasing promotion and Bromley need to pick theirs up. They’re at Dorking Wanderers, who know they must find another win and very fast if they are to extend their two-season National League stay.

Boreham Wood have been at the level for years but they’re in real danger of the drop after an injury ravaged season which has brought no consistency at all.

They’ll be feeling a whole lot better about their chances if they can win at home to Dagenham, while Maidenhead United - just the other side of the dotted line - are also at home, with Aldershot Town taking their top seven charge to Berkshire.

The running joke this week has been about Chesterfield’s selection process following last week’s post-title win antics.

Who’ll be in good shape at York City, with the Minstermen knowing three points against the champions could have them on their way to completing a rescue mission which looked doomed to failure just a few weeks ago.

Eastleigh are nowhere near safe and if Woking put one foot in the division next year with three points, the Spitfires will be facing a very anxious final three weekends.

Wealdstone, pictured, have work ahead of them after missing recent opportunities to fire themselves clear of trouble. If they beat relegated Oxford City, the odds on the Stones joining them in the National League South lengthen.

Micky Mellon says Oldham Athletic must stick together to reach the play-offs. If they don’t win at home to AFC Fylde, their fans will be fearing the worst.

Hartlepool United manager Kevin Phillips said sorry after his side were hit for seven at Gateshead. The apology their supporters want is a home win against FC Halifax Town, while the Heed faithful will be thrilled they’re at home again - it’s Rochdale next in the firing line.

Ebbsfleet United have been wonderful under Danny Searle but he knows survival is not yet assured and Southend United travel after Tuesday’s brilliant 3-0 win at Solihull Moors.

Meanwhile there’s a big one at both ends as Kidderminster Harriers and Altrincham come together.
