League Leaders Macc Say They're Not Far From Safety!

The Vanarama National League leaders Macclesfield Town are still thinking about avoiding relegation before anything else!

The surprise table toppers won their fourth consecutive match on Saturday beating Ebbsfleet United 1-0.

The Silkmen managed to retain top spot for a second week and have secured six victories in their last seven matches.

"The most pleasing thing for me at the moment is that we had spells last season where we were winning two games and we couldn't get that run going," said assistant manager Steve Watson.

"Now we've got a run going and the lads are confident, hopefully they'll go into games believing that they'll win.

"We've got two very tough London games coming up with a cup game in between.

"There's still a load of hard work to do, if you ask John (Askey, manager) he'll probably say we're five games away from being safe!"
