What's In Store In The National League South On Saturday?

By Sam Elliott

Two of the league’s early pacesetters face off on Saturday when Woking host Billericay, writes Tom Scott.

Both sides have started in superb fashion and will be looking to take a strangle hold at the top.

The Cards have won all but one of their games in August and face a huge test to stop Jake Robinson filling his boots for the visiting Ricay.

Welling and Oxford City both have 11 points, but Steve King’s men will fancy their chances against City who have been poor on the road of late.

They’re loud and proud but Concord Rangers were brought crashing back to Earth over the weekend after a five-goal drubbing.

A visit to Chippenham is their first chance of redemption for Sammy Moore’s men.

Wealdstone are unbeaten at home and will fancy their chances against a Truro City side still looking for their first win of the new campaign.

Rod Stringer will be pleased with Chelmsford City’s start to the season. The top three is in reach should they overcome their meeting with Slough Town.

Town will be looking to put an end to their three-match winless run, but it won’t be easy.

Eastbourne Borough
haven’t lost on the road and occupy sixth place in the table coming out of August.

Weston-Super-Mare are desperate for a win however and the bottom side will want to add to their two points.

Two sides in mid-table do battle when Gary Owers’ Torquay United welcome Hemel Hempstead to the coast.

The Tudors are now five games without a win but haven’t lost on the road so could provide a stern test as they look to reignite their early good form.

East Thurrock have had a disastrous start to the season, taking just three points from 21 available.

Jerry Gill takes his in-form Bath City side to Rookery Hill looking to put more pressure on the early leaders.

A south-London clash between Dulwich Hamlet and Hampton and Richmond will no doubt provide great entertainment.

Nine places separate the two but only four points and the Hamlet will no doubt be confident of closing the gap between themselves and mid-table.

Gloucester
have one of the league’s worst attacks and travel to one of the worst defences in the division in Hungerford.

City have scored just four goals in seven games and the visitors have conceded 16.

Mid-table Dartford travel to St Albans City who will be looking to end their four-game winless streak.
