It wasn’t the win that would return the Shaymen to the top seven, but the manager was pleased with his players’ determination to not accept defeat against the in-form Minstermen.
Rob Harker’s goal in the 93rd minute closed the gap on seventh place Aldershot Town to two points and the 1-1 draw may have real significance in the promotion battle in the weeks ahead.
Accepting it was a game low on quality, Millington told the Halifax Courier that his team have five massive matches left - with a live TNT Sports trip to Kidderminster Harriers up next.
Then they have three home games, against Oldham Athletic, Barnet and Ebbsfleet, before a final day visit to Eastleigh. The manager knows his team are very much in the hunt - and reckons it could go down to the wire.
"I thought there were some lads who really put in a shift and fought for every ball and won the majority of their duels, and that's how it's going to have to be between now and the end of the season,” he told the Courier.
"There was a lot of transition, a lot of turnover of possession, very scrappy, very difficult to maintain control in the game, either with or without the ball. So you always know you're going to get chances.
"It's sometimes difficult for people to see where those opportunities are going to come from when neither team's really got control of the ball for any period of time but we always knew, with the players we had on the pitch, we had a chance of scoring.
“We’ll take a point. Ultimately, a draw I think was a fair result and it could be important.”
