Can Fan-power Help Boost Dowson's Hampton Hand?

Alan Dowson hopes Hampton’s campaign to boost the club’s playing budget can have the desired effect.

Supporters have been asked to contribute as the Beavers plot an assault on the Vanarama National League South.

The club is now back in the hands of Graham Wood, who masterminded Gateshead’s rise into the Conference.

Dowson is already enjoying working with him and says the idea for fans to put their hands in their pockets if they can is a real winner – and will help with team strengthening.

“If the fans can chip in even more, then it only increases our chances of a successful season,” manager Dowson said.

“The Boost The Budget campaign allows those who feel they can help to do so. Hopefully the idea really takes off as it could be so important to us as a club.

“I have always wanted to work with Graham and I’m delighted I have got the chance to now. We’re both from the north east so we’ve got a lot in common!”

Hampton’s pre-season continues at pace. They play Dulwich Hamlet this evening and the Beavers manager declared: “We need to be on it every single game now.

“It’s getting closer to the start of the season so every minute counts for the players.”
