Draw For The FA Cup Third Round Made As Upsets Continue

By Sam Elliott

The draw for the FA Cup third round has been made as National League clubs discover their fate after more upsets today.

Maidstone United's reward for beating Barrow is a home game with Stevenage or Port Vale.

Barnet, if they can get the better of Newport in a replay, meet Eastleigh who stunned Reading thanks to Paul McCallum’s double.

Josh Stokes got two as Aldershot and Stockport drew 2-2. The winner of the replay will go to West Brom while Southampton await if Alfreton can defeat Walsall after Saturday’s postponement.

National League leaders Chesterfield, who sunk unbeaten Portsmouth last time out, have now beaten Leyton Orient. Next up it’s a trip to Watford.

The third round winner receive £105,000 from the FA's prize pot. The ties will take place from Friday January 5.
