Dover Know Not Many Will Win at Hartlepool United

Chris Kinnear doesn't believe many other teams will be successful at Hartlepool United this season.

Kinnear, the manager of Dover Athletic, watched his team win 1-0 at Victoria Park.

"Considering the number of changes this club has been forced to make over the close season, we are absolutely delighted," the Crabble manager reacted.

"We came up to Hartlepool with a bit of a game plan in mind and we executed it fantastically well I have to to say.

"We had nine debutants in our starting line up. They were brilliant to a man.

"You can't come up to a club the size of Hartlepool expecting to win by a cricket scoreline. We knew if would be very difficult and so it proved.

"To win up here is a big achievement. I don't think too many clubs will this year, so we may look back on this and think 'didn't we do really well?'

"It's a busy start to the season, we've got a lot of matches coming in a short space of time and it's Saturday-Tuesday for a fair few weeks.

"We're thrilled. It's a perfect start for us and I am really happy."

Dover now have two home games to look forward to as they look to build on their great start.

On Tuesday they face Bromley before welcoming Wrexham on Saturday afternoon to Kent.
