Challinor’s Delight As Coasters Reach Second Round

AFC Fylde boss Dave Challinor says he was proud of a good performance that saw the National League club reach the second round of the FA Cup for the first time.

AFC Fylde were able to defeat Kidderminster Harriers 4-2 in an entertaining game, writes Tom Feaheny.

“It was a great display and result by all the lads, I hope they get the reward of either a big tie or one on paper we can look at as winnable,” Challinor told BBC Radio Lancashire.

“It is a really nice feeling knowing we are in the hat for the next round, we look forward to the draw but we have League games before we play that match and they will be our priority.”

When reflecting on the victory Challinor said just after half-time proved key.

“I made it clear what I wanted and for 20 minutes in the second half we were brilliant we took our chances got the goals and gave ourselves a big advantage.

“We got our goals and I knew they wouldn’t give up and credit to them they didn’t but that was a deserved win for us.”
