Big Night At Both Ends Across The Three Divisions

By Sam Elliott

We’ve got whole host of important matches heading your way from all three divisions tonight.

At the wrong end of the National League, the four teams who won promotion currently sit in the bottom four.

AFC Fylde, though, have games in hand - and one of them is this evening. They can take a step towards salvation with victory against Hartlepool United.

Lennie Lawrence made a winning start in caretaker charge against Oxford City and now wants another strangler to add to his list.

Barnet’s three game winning run was ended at Altrincham as the Bees missed the chance to put Chesterfield under pressure. Dagenham are only three points above the drop zone but go to the Hive having scored eight goals in two games.

Tamworth could go five points clear at the top of the National League North but they’ve got their work cut out.

They make the long trip to Warrington knowing Scunthorpe United aren’t playing - and opportunity knocks.

Their journey is nothing to that facing South Shields. They go from the North East to Hertfordshire as they travel to Bishop’s Stortford, who need to close the 12 point gap to safety.

Scarborough Athletic, like leaders Tamworth, are on a five game winning run. They play Spennymoor, who have lost their last five.

There’s a big one between two strugglers as Steve Watson’s Darlington take on Southport, who suddenly sit one place outside the relegation zone.

Yeovil Town’s National League South lead could be extended to 13 points if things go their way tonight.

They’re at home to Taunton Town as a few of the others at the top end get down to work as well.

FA Cup heroes Maidstone United warm up for Ipswich Town with a Kent derby with Dartford as Slough Town look to build on their impressive recent performances by beating Bath City.
