McMahon Wants More Of The Same Performance Wise Tomorrrow

Daryl McMahon believes his Ebbsfleet United side will start to pick up more wins soon, if they can compete and perform like they did against Tranmere Rovers.

Coming up next for Fleet is Boreham Wood away, with McMahon's side 19th in the table despite only losing one game so far, that is due to them drawing nine times from the eleven games, writes Tom Feaheny.

Speaking to BBC Radio Kent’s Charles Webster about what they need from the next couple of weeks, McMahon made it clear.

“We just need to start piecing together a couple of wins and be slightly better in the final third. We’re Ebbsfleet from the Vanarama National League South, we’re not those big clubs. I know everyone thinks we are but we’re not. We’re a small team compared to them and we’re fighting against them in this division and we’re doing alright.”

"We’re probably very young from our last few games which I like. We’ve got good energy and good quality."

Just that elusive goal didn’t come for us. But what I asked them today was to control the game with the ball and I thought we did that really well. That was more of an Ebbsfleet performance today in terms of with the ball than we’ve seen the last two matches and just that little bit better in the box again that we need to be and we’ll be alright.”

Danny Mills is back in contention for the side after his full debut last weekend and McMahon believes he can be the player that helps them break down defences.

“We’ve got faith in him and he’s a good player. We know he’s going to get goals for us, he's put a couple of great crosses in as well where we think we can get a little tap-in.”
