Goalscoring Start For New Shaymen Signing

FC Halifax Town manager Billy Heath brought in former Stoke City striker George Waring on loan from fellow Vanarama National league side Tranmere Rovers in time to make a starring role in Saturday`s 1-1 draw with Torquay United.

Waring joined Tranmere in the summer on a two-year deal from Stoke, where he had previous loan spells with Barnsley, Oxford United, Shrewsbury Town and Carlisle United.

Waring has made three substitute appearances for Mickey Mellon's side this season.

The 6`4” frontman started well, opening his account for the Shaymen with a 68th minute opener against the Gulls at The Shay.
