Edwards Backs His Struggling Bucks To Climb To Safety

AFC Telford United manager Rob Edwards thinks his side “have enough quality” to climb to safety in the National League North.

The Bucks are stuck in the bottom three and coming off a disappointing home defeat to Nuneaton last Tuesday.

They welcome high-flying Spennymoor Town on Saturday before tough trips to Southport and Bradford (Park Avenue).

But despite their difficult recent run, which has yielded just two wins in 11 games, Edwards is remaining positive.

The boss told the Shropshire Star: “Of course we were frustrated after last week’s defeat to Nuneaton but we must keep looking forward.

“It’s still really tight at the bottom of the table. I accept others might be doom and gloom but we can’t afford to see it that way. We have to stay positive and keep believing in ourselves.

“We have to be confident and have to believe. I feel we have enough quality and the right attitude in the group to do it. First and foremost, we have to compete.”
