Davies Applauds Improving Port Home Form

Southport made it back to back home wins with Kevin Davies applauding his sides performance.

Goals from Jack Sampson and Jason Gilchrist ensured Southport gained another three points and moved up to 16th in the Vanarama National League North table, writes Tom Feaheny.

"It was a complete performance, we had chances and could have won by more, there were great individual performances," Davies told the club's website.

"I think this win is a turning point for our home form, we faced a good well-organised team and made them look pretty ordinary, it was a complete performance by the team.

"We have players who will play wherever for the good of the team, I have selection headaches coming up but that is a good thing.

There have been several new arrivals in recent weeks with two making their debuts in this win, Davies was quick to praise them and those who supported him, in getting them in.

"The board have backed me in the right way, I have been to plenty of games to watch talent and we are bringing in the right players.

"It was a solid debut by Jordan Richards and Dion Charles, we know about the quality they bring to the club, we've added plenty of quality and the right character to the squad."
