Cody Blow For Ebbsfleet As Striker Sits Out Season

Ebbsfleet United have announced striker Cody McDonald’s season is over.

The National League play-off chasers have revealed he sustained a cruciate injury in the midweek draw with Hartlepool United.

The 32-year-old won’t play again this season - a further blow to the club’s top seven hopes.

“He had his scan on Thursday, it’s been confirmed he’s done his cruciate,” Hill said.

“It’s a blow to me, to the club and to Cody. He’s the first player I’ve fetched into the club since I arrived and he was in my mind for a big role this season and obviously looking into going forward into next season as well.

“We are bang out of luck at the moment.”

Fleet missed his goalscoring abilities as they were held to a 0-0 draw at Barrow on Saturday.
