Askey Likes The Look Of Latest New Signing

Manager John Askey admits he likes the look of new signing Gime Toure, whose move to Macclesfield Town was confirmed last Friday.

Toure, who has spent time on trial at opening day opponents Wrexham in recent weeks, put pen-to-paper after impressing the management team in the 3-0 victory over Cheshire neighbours Crewe Alexandra last week.

The 23-year-old is a former West Bromwich Albion triallist and previously played his football in France before linking up with the Silkmen this summer.

Askey told Silkmen TV that, although there are still some areas in Toure’s game he would like to improve, he has been very impressed with his new signing.

“He’s looked good,” he said, “I’ve watched him when he was on trial at Wrexham and obviously he’s come in and now he looks a really good prospect and he’s a very strong lad.

“Obviously, I think he needs to work on getting a few more goals and I’m hoping we can work on that during his time here. He’s only 23, so he should be at a good age to work and improve on the areas of his game that need a bit of work on.

“It’ll be good for him to prove himself as a player in English football and hopefully make a name for himself”.
