Plenty of our clubs produced big performances to keep themselves in contention for progress in the National League Cup.

Three of those victories came in Group A - and once again there was a six-goal showing!

Wealdstone recorded the win of the night as they stuck half a dozen past Stoke City as Wilson Waweru helped himself to a classy hat-trick.

FC Halifax scored six on their first outing but had to settle for three on Tuesday against Wolves. Goals from Ben Tollitt, Cruz Allen and Arian Allen got the job done.

Scunthorpe United were also winners, beating Nottingham Forest 2-1. Luke Brennan settle it.

In Group B, Hornchurch secured their first ever win in the competition - beating Ipswich Town 3-0. Joe Kizzie got them going before further goals from Bobby Kelman and Harry Sandat.

Braintree Town also secured three points, Fulham were underdone by a brilliant Alexander-Leonard Bolovan goal nine minutes from time.

Worthing picked up a point against Norwich but lost on penalties, while West Ham made light work of Aldershot Town.

Boreham Wood, the holders of course, continue to impress in Group C.

After defeating 2024/25 winners Leeds United, they got the better of Newcastle United’s talented U21 team last night. Zak Brunt’s marvellous season continues, he scored the winning goal. It wasn’t such a good night for Solihull Moors or Hartlepool United.

In Group D, two of our sides hit four goals.

Truro City put Leicester City in their place - Luke Jephcott and Dominic Johnson-Fisher both scored twice.

Woking also won 4-1 as Southampton were send home empty handed. Harrison Sohna shone, scoring one and setting up another to thriller caretaker manager Craig Ross.

Tonight, Tamworth play host to Middlesbrough who have already put ten goals past Hartlepool United.
