Your Bank Holiday Weekend Double Bill Starts Right Here!

By Sam Elliott

Part one of the Bank Holiday bonanza is nearly here so whose fortunes will be turning quicker than the wild and windy weather?

The four-day double bill starts on Friday night as the lights come on down at Dagenham & Redbridge for the first time this season with FC Halifax Town making the trip.

Both sides have a win and a draw to their name so far and victory for either hoists them into a very early season promotion place.

Topping the table whatever happens in the capital are Eastleigh and as the only flawless side so far they’ll be hoping to stay that way after Saturday’s visit to Altrincham, who have won two from three so far.

Gateshead are content with their seven-point return and Yeovil Town have six themselves - good starts turn into excellent ones for whoever wins this at the International Stadium.

Sutton United and York City supporters will be chuffed with the starts their teams have made so with seven points on the board it’s an early season big one.

That’s the cases at Barnet when Southend United and their supporters come to town and Dean Brennan asked his club’s fans to stay patient and help them to promotion after a late, late goal.

Both the clubs promoted from the National League North and hunting their first victory - what will give when Boston United and Tamworth exchange blows over the Bank Holiday weekend?

Hartlepool United have two away wins, can they break their home duck? Wealdstone are without a point and need to get on the board themselves.

Maidenhead are also on zero and are plotting their climb, starting at AFC Fylde. Ebbsfleet United manager Danny Searle says there’s no panic but he needs to his team to get off the mark at home to Woking.

Oldham Athletic have made a very steady start and can add to their good feeling at Aldershot Town, who want to repair the damage of defeat at Braintree in midweek. The Iron are at Solihull Moors with the heads up now.

Elsewhere, Forest Green Rovers end their stint on the road at Rochdale before the New Lawn beckons on Monday afternoon.
