York City Boss Mills Says He Knows Most Of His Opening Day Line-Up

The Minstermen got their pre-season campaign underway with a 4-1 victory away at Farsley Celtic.

While two different eleven's started each half, it was the first group who Mills believes will kick-off their first season in the Vanarama National League North, writes Tom Feaheny.

A double from Jon Parkin and goals from Danny Parslow and Kaine Felix proved to be the difference in this game.

Reflecting on his team selection Mills told BBC Radio York.

"The majority of the players who started the first half, will start the first game of the season, the mentality of the other players should be that they work a bit harder to ensure they continue what they are doing."

Mills admitted like many managers that the result was not what he was more concerned with.

"It was about fitness more than anything, I asked for discipline during the game and that is what I got."

City already have a few injury concerns with two players having to miss out on the match.

"Aidan Connolly has had an operation on both his calfs and Matty Fry has had one of his knees swelling up."
