Wrexham Bring in Evans & Harrad

By Steve Whitney

Vanarama National League club Wrexham have announced more recruits to Gary Mills’ squad for the coming season, with both Jordan Evans and Shaun Harrad joining on contracts.

The pair have signed deals that will take them through until at least January.

Jordan was originally a schoolboy signing at the Racecourse at the age of 9 and only switched to Fulham when he left school some four years ago.

He then rose through the ranks at Craven Cottage and earned a professional contract, along with playing for Wales at under-19 and under-21 levels.

Last season, he played fourteen times on loan with Oxford United, helping them to promotion and also appearing at Wembley in the final of the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy.

Joining him will be Shaun Harrad (pictured), a former Burton Albion striker, who finished last season helping Torquay United to stay in the National League, after they appeared doomed at Christmas.

He came through the ranks at Notts County and was given his first professional contract by Gary Mills at Meadow Lane.

Later switching to Burton and helping them to promotion from the Conference in 2009. There were then spells with the likes of Bury, Northampton Town, Alfreton Town and Cheltenham Town.

The 31-year-old has scored over 110 goals in some 450 appearances throughout his career.

Both players have been training with the Reds recently and will be included in the squad that travels to Hyde United today.
