Wrexham Bow Out Of Scottish Cup With Gers Ibrox Defeat

Wrexham's run in the Scottish Challenge Cup is over after defeat to Rangers Colts at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.

Dean Keates again fielded a number of the club's youngsters as the Dragons slid to a two-goal defeat in Scotland.

Goals from Nathan Young-Coombes and Jamie Barjonas halted the National League side's run.

Despite the defeat, Dean Keates was confident his side showed the fighting instinct to take back into their league campaign.

"They [Rangers] moved the ball about really well," he said. "But give our lads credit, for all the possession and pressure they were put under, I don't think our keeper had a save to make in the first 25 minutes.

"But for us, we've got minutes into the boys and the young lads have enjoyed what they've been a part of.

"Ultimately we've lost the game but we've enjoyed the occasion."
