Wood Waste No Time As They Announce Garrard's Return

Boreham Wood have wasted little time in appointing their new manager - and it's someone very familiar.

After last night announcing Ross Jenkins’ time at the club was already over, Luke Garrard has made an emotional return to Meadow Park.

He is back months after leaving, having failed to keep the team up.

Garrard takes over a team with 12 points on the board from their opening eight games in the National League South, Wood sitting in tenth position.

Jenkins, 33, arrived in June after making the decision to step down at Oxford City.

He replaced long-serving Garrard at Meadow Park and spoke this summer of his ambition to help return the club to the National League following relegation in April.

The club today confirmed: "Luke returns to Meadow Park five months after departing the Club, having previously spent nine seasons in the hotseat and 18 total years with the Club in various capacities: player, Academy coach and Assistant Manager before taking the reins as Manager and Head of Football in October 2015.

"The club urges the Wood Army faithful to get behind the Club, Luke and the team this weekend as we look to kick start our season following a difficult year, a poor start and an indifferent spell of results and performances of late."
