Which Sides Will End September In Style On Saturday?

By Sam Elliott

The curtain comes down on September with an intriguing fixture card which brings a lively live DAZN game and a big battle up at the top.

The broadcaster’s cameras head to the Kuflink Stadium and both sides need the points for very different reasons.

Oldham Athletic are finding ways to win again after a run on constant draws and the side with just one defeat so far are climbing into contention.

Ebbsfleet United’s mini recovery has stalled after two painful losses and new manager Harry Watling has seen for himself the size of the task at hand after going down to second-from-bottom Maidenhead in midweek.

It’s early days of course but both York City and Eastleigh look well set for a promotion challenge.

The Minstermen, second only on goal difference, have won four from five at home. The Spitfires, however, have lost their last three on the road.

Dean Brennan wants the Hive packed out after some passionate recent pleas. The leaders have put on a ticket for £5 offer for their home game with AFC Fylde and the players want to put on another show.

Forest Green Rovers are back on home turf and Hartlepool United need to get a firm footing. They have lost their last three and have won just once since August 20.

It’s already looking brutal down the bottom and it’s an important weekend for those in the bottom four.

Two of them meet as Boston United play Maidenhead United and the winner will know they’ve got a great chance of jumping out.

Wealdstone are showing plenty of spirit but they’ve not secured enough wins. They get another chance at FC Halifax Town, who have beaten one straggler and lost to another in the past seven days.

Braintree Town managed to beat the Shaymen on Tuesday thanks to Inih Effiong’s late penalty and a big test awaits at back-in-form Rochdale.

Two promotion hopefuls must contend with challenging away days against clubs who need results to get in the play-off picture themselves.

Southend United host a Gateshead side who haven’t won on the road since matchweek two.

Sutton United are four points off the pace after an inconsistent month. They are at Woking with some great games and super goals between these historic clubs over the years.

Tamworth love a late winner and Altrincham must be on their guard until the final whistle at The Lamb. The hosts are looking to end a wonderful September with four wins in a row.

Can either Yeovil Town or Aldershot find some consistency? Neither have won in four and want to start a rise on Saturday.
