What Happened This Evening Across The National League

By Sam Elliott

Stockport County are showing no signs of slowing down - they won once again to power seven points clear.

It was a 13th win in 14 games and it was nothing to do with the visitors being unlucky at Edgeley Park.

Two goals from Paddy Madden, pictured, and another from Oliver Crankshaw did the damage and they just don’t plan on looking over their shoulders.

One great run did come to an end this evening.

Southend United we’re undefeated in 11 but Dagenham & Redbridge decided the time was right to bring them back down to earth win a pump.

Kevin Maher’s men have lost two games in all competitions since mid-December - both to the Daggers.

It ended 3-0 at Roots Hall, Matt Robinson put the finishing touches to a fine away win.

Boreham Wood are struggling for form at the wrong time and went down to an early goal at Barnet.

Ephron Mason-Clark after 13 minutes earned Dean Brennan’s Bees an impressive three points.

FC Halifax Town are still very much in the race and a Luke Summerfield goal midway through the second half clinched a 1-0 success over Bromley, who are now tenth.

Dorking Wanderers were stunned in the National League South as the title pendulum swung again.

At 2-0 up at Eastbourne Borough it looked to be a great night.

But the Sports had other ideas - Jake Elliott curled in a beauty to seal a stunning comeback win at Priory Lane.

Maidstone United and their deadly duo took full advantage.

Jack Barham and Joan Luque goals sealed a 2-0 victory against Dulwich Hamlet at the Gallagher Stadium.

Danny Leonard and Jack Jebb handed Dartford a 2-2 win over Chelmsford City, while Billericay Town won it late on against St Albans City.

Stafan Ilic struck late to earn in-form Braintree an excellent 1-0 win over Ebbsfleet United.

Hampton & RB beat Welling United 2-1 and there were two 1-1 draws - Bath vs Slough and Concord Rangers against Tonbridge Angels.

In the National League North, those hoping to apply the pressure couldn’t get three points.

York City and Curzon Ashton played out a 0-0 draw.

It was the same issue for Kidderminster Harriers up at Spennymoor Town.

AFC Fylde needed a Jorome Slew goal to earn a point at home to AFC Telford United.

Matt Rhead poached Alfreton Town a 1-1 draw with Paul Cox’s Boston United.

James Gale’s well-taken brace did for Blyth Spartans and Guiseley ran out 3-1 winners at Nethermoor.
