What Happened On Tuesday Night In The National League?

By Sam Elliott

Nine games got the go ahead on Tuesday night and there was plenty to talk about.

After FC Halifax Town’s game with Hartlepool United was called off, there was just one National League game left standing.

Dover Athletic and Boreham Wood drew 1-1 - and it was a bit of a chance missed for both sides.

Wood went ahead through Kaba Tshimanga after 14 minutes.

But the bottom side drew level through TJ Bramble on the hour mark and they couldn’t take advantage of an extra man in the closing stages as it ended all square.

Dartford are back on top of the National League South - and in some style.

Charlie Sheringham returned from his loan spell at Chelmsford on Monday and he marked it with a message to his manager.

The striker hit a fine hat-trick as the Darts defeated Billericay Town 3-0.

St Albans City got back in the winning groove as they added to Welling United’s woes with a 2-0 win.

Shaun Jeffers’ double took the Saints to second while Oxford City climb to fifth after winning 2-1 at Braintree.

Scott Rendell struck the winner as Maidstone United came away from Eastbourne Borough with a much needed win.

Ebbsfleet finally found their goal touch - they defeated Concord Rangers 2-1 despite falling behind early on.

In was a great night for the Kent clubs. Tonbridge’s strong season was underlined by a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Chippenham Town.

In the National League North, Chorley suffered an FA Cup hangover.

Leamington made the bubbly feel flat as they came away victorious from Victory Park.

Taylor Allen’s first goal for the Brakes was cancelled out by Oliver Shenton.

But Dan Turner’s penalty ten minutes from the end won it for Leamington.

Adam Clayton’s fine header earned Farsley Celtic a vital 1-0 win over Darlington.
